Save the Date for the Asian SBC Users’ Group 2nd Annual Meeting

Just Announced: the Asian SBC Users’ Group will return to the Harbour Grand Hotel in Hong Kong for its second annual meeting, November 6-8, 2012.  Building on the success of last year’s inaugural meeting, this year’s conference will unite 200+ industry professionals for three days of world class educational content and targeted networking opportunities. Sign up  to receive the latest updates on the steering committee, speaker announcements, conferene sessions and more!

Founded by CLP Power Hong Kong, in conjunction with the PRB Coal Users' Group (PRBCUG),  the Asian Sub-Bituminous Coal Users' Group (ASBCUG) was created to promote the Safe, Efficient and Economic use of sub-bituminous coals by generating companies in Asia. The founding members of the Asian Sub-Bituminous Coal Users' Group consist of the major users of sub-bituminous coals in Asia, including CLP, HK Electric, Taiwan Power, KOSEP, EGCO and TNB.

A Steering Council, represented by Senior Management of the Founding Members and one representative from the PRBCUG Executive Committee, will provide leadership and direction to the development of the Users' Group.

1st Annual ASBCUG Meeting Recap

November 1-2, 2011
The Annual meeting attracted more than 200 delegates from generating stations throughout Asia. The meeting format featured candid interaction, and the presentations delivered many prominant case histories.

The meeting was held over a two day period, with the first day featuring plenary sessions of interest to all delegates. The second day consisted of breakout sessions covering topics such as:

  • Coal Handling

  • Boiler/Combustion Issues

  • Safety/Fire/Risk Management
