Annual Meeting Features:

 Interested in Speaking at the 2013 Conference? Submit your 200-300 word abstract with speaker bio before June 15th for consideration.   Some topics attendees will see this year are:  Ultra Supercritical units, Condition Based Monitoring, Carbon capture, Bag filters (reference ESP operation and maintenance), Intake obstructions – A Jellyfish case study from TNB, Environmental issues and emerging challenges, Conversion, How to do a detailed environmental impact assessment, Coal Quality and its Effect on Boiler Combustion, Coal Blending and much more.

  Utility Speakers: As always we offer even more generating company participation!  Representatives from American Electric Power (AEP), CLP Power, Hongkong Electric Company, KOSEP, Quezon Power, Taiwan Power Company, Westar Energy spoke in 2012 and 2013 will offer more case studies from sub-bituminous coal plants.

  Thursday Morning Generating Company Only Meeting: We know that employees from generating companies want a chance to have candid discussions with their counterparts from other generating companies. So we offer a special 3 hour session for open discussions on key issues and common challenges faced by generating companies exclusive to employees of generating companies.

 

Tenaga Nasional Berhad is proud to host the 3rd annual Asian SBC Users’ Group in the wonderful city of Penang. This year’s event will continue to offer educational presentations that emphasize the unique characteristics attributed to the use of subbituminous coal in the generation of power. The conference unites hundreds of industry professionals for this three and a half day conference.

Founded by CLP Power Hong Kong, in conjunction with the PRB Coal Users' Group (PRBCUG),  the Asian Sub-Bituminous Coal Users' Group (ASBCUG) was created to promote the Safe, Efficient and Economic use of sub-bituminous coals by generating companies in Asia. The founding members of the Asian Sub-Bituminous Coal Users' Group consist of the major users of sub-bituminous coals in Asia, including CLP, EGCO, HongKong Electric, Taiwan Power, KOSEP, TNB and the PRB Coal Users' Group.
